Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an Environmental Service Technician to contribute to a clean, safe patient environment at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph. You will clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas, remove linens and waste, and maintain floors, carpets and upholstery.

Training is provided, with opportunities to grow your career. You’ll work collaboratively with the Environmental Services team, support visitors and staff, and rotate across sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience in public service, hospital, environmental services or janitorial fields required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to procedures.
• Remove linens and waste streams.
• Maintain and restore floors, carpets and upholstery as per guidelines.
• Assemble, stock and store equipment and supplies needed for tasks.
• Communicate and collaborate with team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital environment.
• May work across department sites for coverage as needed.

Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Reports general maintenance and communicates special cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
• Fully functioning in two or more areas of responsibility.
• May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• No Experience public service and or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience Required
