Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an Environmental Service Technician in Saint Joseph, MI. This part-time role involves cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas, removing linens and waste, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. Training is provided, with a focus on teamwork and high-quality care.

You will join a supportive environment with opportunities to grow, while working evenings and 16 hours per week at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph.

Qualifications

• Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to procedures.
• Remove linens and waste streams and manage disposal.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on floors, carpets, and upholstery.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies per department standards.
• Communicate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

Job SummaryYou can make a difference in patients' lives as an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health. Your contributions in this role have a direct impact on high-quality care; you'll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the appearance and condition of our floors, carpets, and upholstery. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment. No experience is required - you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures. Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services. Reports general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assists visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
• Fully functioning within one cleaning area.
• May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.
