Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Group Leader for Environmental Services to coordinate and oversee daily activities, ensuring a clean and safe hospital environment.

You will supervise aides, assign tasks, and monitor program adherence across shifts. The role requires coordination of moves, equipment checks and on-site training for new staff, with emphasis on policies, quality control and timely discharges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.
• Three to six months of experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates moves and set-ups as requested by other departments and off-site buildings.
• Coordinates the opening of the shift assigning aides to work schedules, issuing keys and pagers in the absence of the supervisor.
• Delegates work to Environmental Services aides.
• Responds to issues concerning policies and procedures as they relate to Environmental Services aides.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs on department equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning.
• Checks equipment batteries weekly for proper maintenance.
• Assists in orientation of new employees through training and working with them in assigned area(s).
• Assists in planning, monitoring and implementation of the Environmental Services daily functions.
• Ensures all discharges and transfers are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensures completion of daily scheduled meeting set-up requests within the set period.
• Assists in performing housekeeping duties during critical staff shortages.
• Revises work assignments to offset absences or workload demands.
• Assists with quality control inspections and monitors follow-up on results to meet hospital acceptable standards.
