Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to lead daily housekeeping operations in the Medical Center. You will supervise staff, monitor cleanliness, and ensure safety and compliance with policies across shifts.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree or equivalent, at least 3 years in environmental service or housekeeping, and English proficiency. Bachelor’s degree preferred; a strong focus on training and process improvement is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent years of work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of environmental service or housekeeping experience.
• Reads and writes in the English language.
• Familiar with cleaning protocols of the various isolation types.

Responsibilities

• Review daily staffing to ensure adequate coverage for areas of responsibility.
• Access Teletracking system to prepare assignments and distribute pagers; log in for updates.
• Supervise event set-ups and a.m. shift duties.
• Conduct environmental rounds ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies/equipment.
• Perform random inspections and coach staff based on findings.
• Direct and schedule staff work activities and special projects.
• Review next-day staffing levels and communicate outstanding issues to the next shift.
• Lead training on cleaning policies for new hires and incumbent staff.
• Track completion of required learning for direct reports.
• Collaborate with HUMC departments to deliver projects and maintain standards.
