Environmental Services Supervisor

Role Overview: The Environmental Supervisor oversees the cleaning and maintenance of an assigned building or area by managing student workers, inspecting facilities, maintaining files, and completing special projects as requested.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, train, and evaluate an assigned crew of student employees.
• Maintain morale and high productivity.
• Cover responsibilities in the absence of a student employee.
• Ensure employees are compliant with OSHA safety standards and have current Safety Data Sheet information.
• Conduct regular area inspections, communicate results with student employees, and submit online repair requests as needed.
• Maintain orderly custodial areas, order custodial supplies, and be familiar with chemical use and information.
• Keep proper documentation for all assigned students, building and event files, and supervisory material current and accurate.
• Complete certifications or specialized training recommended by managers and coordinate specific projects given by managers.

Education Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• College degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

• 1+ year in leadership.
• Preferred: 1+ year as a supervisor in the custodial industry.

Physical Requirements and Skills

• Able to work with cleaning chemicals.
• Capable of standing and walking for long periods of time.
• Strong communication, conflict management, detail-oriented, flexible, leadership, office equipment operation, organizing skills, state driver’s license.
