JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements. Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external). Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated. Interviews prospective Environmental Services aides and makes selection for hire. Evaluates Environmental Services aides for work quality, quantity and performance of work schedule, making adjustments when needed to insure consistent quality cleaning. Administers annual performance evaluations for Environmental Services aides.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sits for up to 1-3 hours/day; one hour at a time. Stands for 1-8 hours/day; 1 to 4 hours at a time. Walks for up to 7-8 hours/day; 1 to 4 hours at a time. Occasional handling. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Occasional carrying up to 25 lbs.; rarely up to 50 lbs. Occasional pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.; rarely up to 75 lbs. Occasionally stoop, bend, squat, kneel and reaches above shoulder level. Rarely climbs ladder up to 10 feet. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and seeing as it relates to general and near vision.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institution setting and one (1) to two (2) years supervisory experience in housekeeping preferred. Supervisor is subject to on call status for hospital or departmental emergencies.
