Job summary

Ascentek is hiring an Environmental Services Route Driver in Minnesota. This full-time, hourly role involves daily parts washer service, containerized waste handling, and occasional upselling of services on a local route.

You will deliver on a scheduled path, stay compliant with DOT and state rules, and maintain strong customer relations. The position requires a High School diploma or GED and a Class B CDL with Hazmat/Tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Experience with RCRA, DOT, USEPA, OSHA preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to manage routes.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily parts washer service and containerized waste handling.
• Switch out 15- & 30-gallon drums of solution and service equipment.
• Pickup waste and upsell products/services on a dedicated service route.
• Deliver on a daily schedule and maintain safety standards.
• Operate vehicles per U.S. DOT and local regulations.

The Environmental Services Route Driver will provide the daily parts washer service, Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Containerized waste services, and potentially upsell products/services on a dedicated service route.

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Switch out 15- & 30-gallon drums of solution
• Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks
• Pick up 5-gallon pails, Drums, and IBC totes of Containerized waste from customer site
• Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field
• Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

• High school diploma or GED

Experience and/or Training:

• Experience with RCRA, DOT, USEPA, OSHA preferred
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Prior Route Management Experience preferred

License/ Certification:

• Valid Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience with OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations preferred
• Able to work indoors and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills – Microsoft suite

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Physical Demands: sitting, walking, twisting, squatting, reclining, climbing, kneeling, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching, repetitive motion, lifting 75 pounds.

Mental Demands: Comprehend and follow instructions, perform assigned tasks, maintain an appropriate work pace, perform complex or varied tasks, relate to others, influence people, make decisions, direct, control, plan, interact with public or coworkers in written form, communicate orally, etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Environmental Demands: Extreme cold or heat, noise, vibration, exposure to (dust/ gas/ fumes/steam/chemicals), work outdoors, work at heights, working around moving machinery, walking on uneven ground, PPE required, etc.

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $ 25 and $34 hourly. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
