EVS Professional/ Floor Care Technician
Full-time 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week). Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Hours subject to change to meet the needs of Grant Regional Health Center.
The EVS Professional/ Floor Care Technician is responsible for the day-to-day floor maintenance, special cleaning projects in the hospital, clinics and other properties, along with utilizing cleaning agents to maintain patient and non-patient areas. This includes stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets and furniture, disposing of trash & linens, making beds, and cleaning surface areas. The Floor Care/EVS Specialist will be required to develop a plan or schedule to keep the floors shampooed and waxed. For the work to be completed it may be required to complete floor care during weekend shifts based on the needs of the facility. This position requires basic knowledge and ability to maintain equipment used within the department to consist of, but not limited to the following: Auto scrubber, buffer, sweepers, vacuums and wet vacuums.
Previous professional housekeeping or industrial floor care experience preferred. Hospital cleaning experience would be a plus. Applicant should possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the health center staff. Must possess the ability to lift and/or transfer a minimum of 50#; manual dexterity; good balance and hand-eye coordination; frequent bending, kneeling & reaching; ability to work off a ladder; and self-motivation necessary. Basic computer knowledge is a plus.
