Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking an Environmental Services Manager to lead housekeeping and laundry operations within a hospital setting. You will ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining adherence to all applicable regulations.

You will plan, organize, and direct the department, supervise environmental service and laundry teams, and support an inclusive culture by integrating diversity training into orientation for new staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains housekeeping and laundry services to ensure a safe, sanitary, and clean environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Plans, develops, organizes, directs, and controls operations of the Environmental Services Department while upholding regulatory requirements.
• Provides direct supervision and guidance to environmental service staff and laundry staff as appropriate.
• Supports inclusive, patient-centered care by promoting cultural diversity and cultural sensitivity training for new employees.

Job description

The Environmental Services Manager maintains housekeeping and laundry services ensuring a safe, sanitary, and clean environment for all patients, visitors, and employees. This position plans, develops, organizes, directs, and controls operations of the Environmental Services Department and upholds requirements, TJC, federal, state and local regulations. In addition, the position provides direct supervision and guidance to environmental service staff, as well as laundry staff as appropriate. This position will support cultural diversity by ensuring that the delivery of quality, equitable and culturally competent patient-centered care is provided; promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity; and ensuring that cultural diversity and sensitivity training is part of new employee orientation on an on-going basis to meet the needs of the patient population served in the hospital.
