Job summary

The Chesapeake, Newport News, VA, seeks an experienced Environmental Services Supervisor to lead our housekeeping, floor care, and laundry teams. This working supervisor role involves directing daily operations, training staff, and maintaining safety and infection prevention standards.

You will provide day-to-day leadership, QA, and support to the Environmental Services team, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. Flexibility for varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred.
• Supervisory or lead experience is desirable.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Basic computer proficiency for scheduling, timekeeping, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in daily housekeeping, floor care, and laundry operations.
• Assign work, coordinate schedules, and ensure staffing and productivity.
• Assist with reviewing PTO requests and timecards as appropriate.
• Train, coach, and mentor team on cleaning procedures, infection prevention, resident interactions, and safety.
• Provide coaching and corrective guidance regarding performance, safety, and conduct.
• Conduct routine inspections and quality audits to ensure standards are met.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials; communicate replenishment needs.
• Maintain records and documentation related to departmental operations.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, hazardous waste, OSHA standards, and safety policies.
• Coordinate and participate in special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Assist with room setups and breakdowns for events and activities.
• Support trash removal and sanitation and other environmental services duties.
• Promote excellent customer service and a positive work environment.
