Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking an Environmental Services Lead to oversee daily EVS operations on the 2nd shift, with a 40-hour week, rotating holidays, and work every 3rd weekend. You will mentor teammates, coordinate schedules, and ensure cleaning standards meet EVS procedures.

This role requires a high school diploma, 1 year in housekeeping, and leadership experience; strong communication and customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to train staff and maintain

Responsibilities

  • Lead co-workers in the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services department (EVS) program.
  • Confers, plans ahead with supervisory staff on job assignments and activities.
  • Verifies completion of duties/tasks by EVS staff according to EVS procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling the Environmental Services staff and adjust daily schedules for proper staffing.
  • Functions as EVS Tech in lead role and coordinates projects/set ups.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, train on new methods and demonstrate techniques.

Pay Range

$20.80 - $31.20

Major Responsibilities

Lead co-workers in the day-to- day operations of the Environmental Services department (EVS) program.

  • Confers, plans ahead with supervisory staff, on job assignments, projects and activities.
  • Verifies completion of all assigned duties/tasks by Environmental Services staff according to EVS procedures.
  • Responsibility for assisting in scheduling of the Environmental Services staff.
  • Adjusts the daily schedule to ensure proper staffing in all areas.
Functions as Environmental Services Tech, knowing all positions/responsibilities within department. When in a lead role:
  • Role in Hazardous Materials, spills and disaster plans
  • Assists in competencies
  • Monitor Bed Tracking
  • Monitors lunch and breaks
  • Liaison between EVS and customers/staff as needed
  • Coordinate projects/set ups
  • Assist with room inspection high touch, etc.
  • Issues key, pagers, equipment, etc
  • Makes suggestions for work improvement
Supply and equipment use and maintenance.
  • Assists in training and introducing new equipment and cleaning methods by demonstrating techniques and procedures
  • Inspects equipment and supplies for cleanliness and possible damage, to ensure that it is in working for the next shift use and maintenance of all equipment.

Communicate to leadership associate performance, conduct, issues, etc.

Customer Satisfaction - Demonstrates a commitment to satisfying customer needs and exceeding customer expectations. Continues to improve patient and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Maintains courteous and pleasant attitude to patients, families and other contacts.
  • Utilizes appropriate chain of command in resolving complaints, grievances
  • Maintains confidential patient and departmental information.
  • Presents department in a positive manner to all contacts.
  • Utilizes AIDET with both Internal Customers and External Customers.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively when dealing with fellow associates.
  • Demonstrates a positive, supportive attitude to patient families and other personnel in emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Displays patient and tact when dealing with other hospital personnel.
Trains associates and assists in Department Orientation Process.
  • Maintains licenses and certificates as appropriate
  • Fulfills operating unit, competencies, and required training.
Education/Experience Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • At least one year in Housekeeping
