Job summary

Hutchinson Health is seeking an Environmental Services Floor Technician to clean facility floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming, with minor repairs as needed.

The role supports a 1.0 FTE schedule of 40 hours weekly, primarily Monday–Friday, evenings from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, ensuring spaces remain safe, clean and well-maintained for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
• Experience as a housekeeper, janitor, or custodian preferred.
• General knowledge of furniture, floor and wall cleaning required.
• Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness required.
• Accuracy in following written and verbal orders required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe, comfortable and attractive work areas.
• Clean internal areas: buffing, waxing, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, and vacuuming.
• Ensure equipment is available and stored after use.
• Assist in preventative maintenance and facility upkeep.
• Replace bulbs and stained ceiling tiles; place work orders for deficiencies.
• Maintain adequate supply levels for daily tasks.
• Assist in training coworkers and attend service area meetings.

The Environmental Services Floor Technician is responsible for cleaning of the facilities floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing and vacuuming as well as minor repairs.

Work Schedule:

FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, work schedule is Monday through Friday from 4PM until 12:30 AM.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
• Cleaning internal areas of buildings, including general cleaning, buffing, waxing, sweeping, mopping, and auto scrubbing hard floors and vacuuming carpeted areas.
• Ensures equipment is available for daily work duties and is cleaned and properly stored after use.
• Assist in the preventative maintenance program and upkeep of the facility.
• Replace lightbulbs and stained ceiling tiles as necessary. Place work orders for other deficiencies spotted to Facilities Services.
• Assures that an adequate supply of supplies is maintained in closets to perform daily tasks.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
• Assists in training of co-workers and attends service area meetings.

Education, Training Or Degree Required

• Must be able to read, write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions accurately.

License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)
