Advocate Christ Medical Center is seeking a part-time Environmental Services Aide to perform floor cleaning, polishing and related duties in a hospital setting. This role involves operating various cleaning machines and maintaining a neat, safe work area in compliance with safety guidelines.

Works 20 hours per week with a schedule that includes Sundays and Thursdays in Week 1 and Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in Week 2, reporting to the Environmental Services team.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1–2 years of housekeeping preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Able to read and follow safety labels and instructions.

Mansioni

• Maintain hard surface floors and carpets following department processes.

Schedule Details/Additional Information:

• Work Week 1 on Sunday and Thursday
• Work Week 2 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday

Pay Range:

$19.80 - $29.70

Major Responsibilities:

• Scrub, strips, polishes and refinishes floors using appropriate equipment and/or supplies. Operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical, i.e. ringers, vacuum, electric floor machines, sweepers, etc.
• 1)Analyzes floor or carpet conditions and determines proper cleaning techniques, following department processes.
• 2)Maintains hard surface floors and carpets following department process.
• 3)Exhibits timely and satisfactory completion of all job assignments.
• 4)Exercises initiative by seeking additional tasks from group leader or other associates when time permits.
• 5)Uses and maintains equipment, keeping clean and in good repair. Keeps work area in orderly, clean and safe condition.
• 6)Replaces and transports sharps containers to waste staging area.
• 7)Collects soiled linen.
• 1)Removal and disposal of rubbish from selected areas, following safety guidelines.
• 2)Separates regular and recycle trash according to procedure.
• 3)Operates waste compactors safety and efficiently.
• 4)Clean and/or sanitizes all garbage/waste disposal containers.
• 4)Displays patient and tact when dealing with other hospital personnel.
• 5)Presents department in a positive manner to all contacts.
• 6)Maintains courteous and pleasant attitude to patients, families and other contacts.
• 7)Maintains confidential patient and departmental information.

Utilized AIDET with both Internal Customer and External Customers, meeting system goal.

Provides support for the following services.

• 1)Arranges furniture for meeting, workshops and community affairs according to specification of responsible department/individual as required.
• 2)Relocate furniture, equipment, etc., as requested.
• 3)Completes terminal cleans as needed.

Cross-trained on discharge room cleans and OR cleaning to accommodate Hospital needs during peak periods or staffing needs, and complete Housekeeping Aide duties as needed.

• 1)Completes discharge room clean following hospital process.
• 2)Completes OR cleaning following hospital processes.

Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence.

• 1)Attends all mandatory departmental and hospital meetings and in-services.
• 2)Completes annual CBT's required.
• 3)Follows written department goals and objectives, and review annually with Manager.
• 4)Seeks education and learning experiences in areas of identified growth needs and review progress during annual evaluation.

Maintains responsibility for attendance and punctuality

• 1)Maintains proper attendance requirement outlined in the Hospital Policy and Procedure Manual.
• 2)Plans for special days off in advance and submits written requests for time off to department management for approval per departmental guidelines.
• 3)Requests PTO time in accordance with departmental policy.

Education/Experience Required:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience 1-2 years experience with prior housekeeping experience preferred Basic computer skills preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Able to operate small electrical equipment i.e., vacuum cleaners Excellent customer service skills Ability to communicate effectively in English as related to the performance of the essential job activities outlined (including reading and comprehending chemical labels and other safety materials)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Job responsibilities involve walking, standing, bending, climbing and lifting throughout the work day.Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
