Job description

Environmental Services Floor Technician (FT - Evenings/Nights) (Maintenance)


Performs both routine and restorative floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting.

Performs basic environmental cleaning functions throughout the facilities when necessary, including room discharge cleaning, surgery terminal cleaning, UV disinfecting, etc.

Adhere to all organizational safety, risk management, and infection control standards while promoting a culture of safety.

Cleans and performs routine maintenance on floor equipment; requesting assistance from plant operations and maintenance as needed.

Operates all equipment with care and according to facility and manufacturers safety standards and procedures.

Completes the appropriate paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.

Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives.

Performs project work and specialty tasks according to facility needs. This can include tasks such as conference room set up/dismantle according to function sheets and schedules, cleaning of stairwells and elevators, and hanging of cubicle curtains.

Removes waste and transports it to the appropriate disposal area while identifying the proper waste stream (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous).

Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions where and if required, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).

Supports training of team members as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

Previous floor care experience preferred.

After the initial training period, must be able to demonstrate proper use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment assigned, and floor care maintenance techniques.
