Job summary

UPMC Environmental Services Associate role focusing on creating a clean, safe, and welcoming hospital environment that supports healing and exceptional care. This full-time position helps maintain patient rooms and spaces, contributing directly to the patient experience. The role is on the evening shift from 2:30 p.m.

to 11:00 p.m., five days per week with every other weekend and holiday rotations. Preference given to candidates with housekeeping and customer service experience and hospital

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience.
• Experience in a hospital environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make beds, follow established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect and ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and in good repair; report problems to supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations to assure adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms and offices.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition; report problems/suggestions to supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wipe walls, spot carpets as assigned.

As an Environmental Services Associate, you'll play a vital role in the patient experience by helping maintain a hospital environment that supports healing, safety, and exceptional care. Every room you clean, every space you prepare, and every interaction you have contributes directly to the care our patients receive.

This full-time position works five days per week, including every other weekend, on the evening shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Associates may work 8-hour shifts and are expected to participate in weekend and holiday rotations.

While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to individuals with at least one year of housekeeping experience, six months of customer service experience, and previous experience working in a hospital environment. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications but do not possess all preferred experience will still be considered.
