Job summary

Environmental Services Director at Ridge Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation

Ridge Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and results-driven Environmental Services Director to lead our Housekeeping, Laundry, and Floor Care departments. As the Environmental Services Director, you will play a vital role in ensuring our facility consistently meets the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, infection prevention, and resident satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all Environmental Services operations, including Housekeeping, Laundry, and Floor Care.

  • Ensure the facility consistently maintains exceptional standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance throughout all resident rooms, common areas, and administrative spaces.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and facility regulations related to environmental services and infection prevention.

  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate Environmental Services team members.

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.

  • Manage departmental budgets, inventory, equipment, and supply ordering while maintaining cost-effective operations.

  • Collaborate closely with Nursing, Maintenance, Dietary, Admissions, and other departments to support resident care and operational excellence.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident, family, and staff concerns regarding housekeeping and laundry services.

  • Lead department readiness for state surveys and regulatory inspections.

  • Promote outstanding customer service by creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of Environmental Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, or Floor Care experience, preferably in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospital, or long-term care setting.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of infection control practices, cleaning procedures, and healthcare sanitation standards.

  • Experience managing staff schedules, training, performance evaluations, and employee development.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications is preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or professional certifications are a plus.
