Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Worker to clean patient rooms and common areas across the health system. You will follow infection control guidelines and safety practices while maintaining floors, carpets, and other surfaces in top condition.

You will use buffers, mops and other tools to disinfect, restock supplies, and support bed tracking and Waste management tasks. This role involves teamwork with patients and staff in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Skill to prioritize work in an efficient and effective manner.
• Proven ability to read and write and understand oral instructions and safety signage.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements and working conditions of the job.
• Shown ability to be customer service driven and communicate via phone/paging systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing in patient rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
• Maintains flooring care including cleaning, buffing, and applying floor seal/finish.
• Uses power equipment and hand tools for cleaning and maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture.
• Provides waste collection and removal including biomedical waste and recycling.
• Restocks cleaning supplies and essential items; carries out bed tracking as needed.

Maintains flooring care including cleaning, buffing, and applying floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors; vacuums, shampoos and extracts carpets. Uses and maintains power equipment and hand tools such as buffers, auto brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture. Provides waste collection and removal including biomedical waste, recycling, cleaning trash chutes and receptacles. Mixes and obtains cleaning solutions from dispensing systems; follows appropriate cleaning methods and uses the correct solutions and equipment for different surfaces. Restocks cleaning supplies and various other items such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. Carries out bed tracking tasks, as needed.
