Description

The ENS sales team (EST) Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for proactive, action-oriented sales for all ENS services (engineering and construction) within a specific market, region, account, initiative, or technical area. The BDM should have a strong presence in the environmental services industry, with established relationships and success in building new client connections that lead to sales of consulting (engineering) or construction services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing business development and marketing strategies for engineering/consulting and construction services.
  • Leading go-to-market strategies for new offerings and improving existing ones.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and building relationships.
  • Leading pursuit processes for significant projects.
  • Achieving sales targets and staying informed about industry trends.

This role focuses on the industrial market sector, including industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, pharmaceuticals, mining, and emerging opportunities. It is a strategic, client-facing role involving direct sales, environmental strategy development, and leadership of a team of account managers and initiative leaders.

Key Duties:

  • Engaging with clients to identify projects and communicate capabilities, translating into sales.
  • Maintaining relationships with existing clients and establishing new ones, including at the corporate level.
  • Managing client strategies and overseeing pursuit strategies for key contracts.
  • Collaborating internally across teams and regions to maximize opportunities.
  • Developing and implementing individual sales plans, and closing new business deals.
  • Participating in strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring staff.
  • Providing thought leadership through industry articles, conferences, and associations.
  • Leading by example in client orientation and sales efforts, ensuring safety and effective communication.

Additional Focus Areas:

  • Market sector leadership, including directing account managers and tracking sales performance.
  • Regional engagement to create new business, aligning with regional strategies and planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sciences, engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years (preferably 15) in environmental or utility markets with proven sales success.
  • Experience in project management, client relationship development, and industry participation.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel 50-70% for client engagement.

Compensation: $100,000 - $430,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Includes base salary and potential bonus.
