Job Summary

The purpose of Environmental Services within Corewell Health is to provide our patients and their families with a clean and safe environment. An Environmental Attendant is a housekeeper performing basic cleaning tasks while interacting with patients, visitors, and other hospital staff. The following description of essential duties reflects the major responsibilities and tasks of the job; other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Essential Functions

1. Interact comfortably with patients, families, and visitors, presenting a warm smile and friendly demeanor to make visitors feel welcomed and cared for.
2. Clean patient rooms daily, sanitize all surfaces, spot wash walls and windows, remove trash and linen (where required), and thoroughly clean restrooms. Also dust mop and damp mop floors.
3. Clean ancillary areas such as nurses’ stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, offices, and other designated areas.
4. Clean specialty areas including OR Suites, Pre Op and Post Op areas, Emergency Department, ICUs, Labor and Delivery, Pediatric Units, Mental Health Units, Oncology, Radiology, Labs, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Geriatrics, Kitchen areas, and more.
5. Perform basic cleaning tasks such as sanitizing surfaces, vacuuming, dust mopping, trash removal, and delivering clean linen. Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
6. Use appropriate chemicals and follow safety guidelines during cleaning, with proper training and tools provided.

Location: Troy Hospital, 44201 Dequindre Road, Troy

Type: Part-time, Evening shift, 40 hours/week, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Variable days, Every other weekend.
