Job summary

Summary

Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital or healthcare facility to support patient, staff, and visitor satisfaction.

Essential Functions

• Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass.
• Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies as needed.
• Picks up debris around the building and surrounding areas.
• Operates and controls high- and low-speed stripping and buffing machines.
• Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment for special events and routine hospital activities.
• Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.

Experience

Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required
