Environmental Services Associate (Housekeeping)

UPMC Chautauqua is hiring Environmental Services Associates for various shifts. Candidates must be willing to work rotating weekends and holidays and have flexible schedules.

Purpose

Clean all aspects of assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment, to meet hospital and department standards, thereby promoting quality care. Tasks include moving equipment, furniture, boxes, and hanging blinds and curtains.

Responsibilities
  • Make beds following established procedures in patient discharge and on-call rooms.
  • Inspect and ensure all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair; report issues to supervisors.
  • Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
  • Clean assigned areas thoroughly, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment in good condition; report problems and suggest improvements.
  • Remove trash from all assigned areas.
  • Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Move equipment, furniture, and perform tasks like washing walls and spot cleaning carpets as assigned.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Use housekeeping equipment properly.
  • Note: During duties, may be in rooms where medications are stored but no contact with medications is allowed.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

Must meet UPMC requirements for licensure, certifications, and background checks.
