Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a housekeeping professional to complete standardized cleaning in patient rooms, offices, departments and ancillary areas. You will ensure patient care continuity by performing routine cleaning, refilling dispensers and collecting waste throughout the facility.

The role includes supporting discharge cleaning, exterior cleaning, and participation in patient satisfaction initiatives while adhering to safety standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic reading, writing and effective communication skills.
• Ability to operate power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs timely patient room cleaning and provides cleaning support to departments; cleans daily in all areas including discharge cleaning, patient room cleaning, cycle cleaning, office cleaning and all ancillary area cleaning to ensure continuity and efficiency of patient care.
• Cleaning of assigned building exteriors and refilling of dispensers; collection of all receptacles.
• Completes project work such as wall washing, trash removal, biohazardous linens and sharps container removal.
• Assists with Hospital emergency clean up.
• Acts on Patient Satisfaction initiatives to meet department goals and targets.
• Adheres to hospital safety standards in the use of chemicals, equipment and machinery and in marking hazardous areas; follows all policies and regulations.
