Job summary

Mimbres Memorial is seeking an Environmental Services Associate for a full-time 2pm to 10pm shift. The role supports hospital operations by maintaining a clean and safe environment, replenishing supplies, and adhering to infection control standards.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED (or related housekeeping experience) and offers an on-site work arrangement. Prior janitorial experience is preferred, with a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED preferred and/or 1 year janitor and/or housekeeping experience may substitute for preferred education.
• 1 year work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Replenishes room supplies including hand sanitizer and restocks clean linen in assigned department(s) as many times per shift as required by patient census and or procedures.
• Removes biohazard waste, trash and soiled linen from care units and transport to appropriate collection areas according to safe handling procedures in accordance with Infection Control.
• Cleans trash transport carts, linen carts and housekeeping carts including disinfecting wheels as needed.
• Removes pharmaceutical waste according to safe handling procedures.
• Performs carpet care including vacuuming, extracting and bonneting as required.
• Performs discharge (terminal cleaning) and daily patient room cleaning according to check lists to assure compliance with infection control standards.
• Follows pre-established check lists assigned for specific daily duties required of an assigned shift or area.
