Job summary

AdventHealth in Manchester, Kentucky is seeking a Full-time Environmental Services Associate to clean patient and public areas, stock supplies, and uphold infection control standards. You will operate cleaning equipment, document tasks, and assist with bed-throughput tracking using handheld tech.

• Knowledge of infection control practices and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment safely.

• Experience in healthcare environmental services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including trash collection and surface sanitization.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies as needed.
• Maintains infection control practices and operates cleaning equipment properly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Uses Bed Management system to support bed throughput and tracking.
• Cleans/collects soiled linen and disposes of waste per policy.
• Cleans and disinfects areas with bodily fluids per facility standards.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, and offices as required.

Job Description:

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.

• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.

• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking.

• Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.

• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.

• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed.

• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field Required

• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition Required

• Able to communicate in English Required

• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard Required

• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software Required

• Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform basic arithmetic Required

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv Preferred

Work Experience:

• Housekeeping or custodial experience Preferred
