Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC seeks a dedicated Environmental Services Associate to maintain clean patient and public areas, stock supplies, and follow infection control procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will operate cleaning equipment, manage waste, use the Bed Management system, and ensure safety and quality standards, with a Day-Weekend PRN schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills and use of standard office software.
• Must read and understand safety data sheets and product labels.
• Experience in healthcare environmental services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including disposing of waste and sanitizing surfaces.
• Operates cleaning equipment and carts, stocks supplies in assigned areas.
• Maintains bed flow using the Bed Management system and related handheld devices.
• Follows infection control procedures and proper waste handling guidelines.

Job Description

Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces. Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking. Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed. Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]
• Able to communicate in English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard [Required]
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software [Required]

• Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment [Preferred]
• Knowledge of additional languages [Preferred]

Education: High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience: Housekeeping or custodial experience [Preferred]

Pay Range

$15.20 - $24.32
