Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital in Port St Lucie is seeking an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to join its EVS team. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe patient environment across patient rooms, restrooms and common areas while supporting high standards of care at Tradition Hospital.

You will work nights from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with shift patterns Monday–Friday plus every other weekend and some holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently ranked among the highest‑performing EVS teams in healthcare. On this team, you will help create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. You will help to make a positive impact on the patient experience by ensuring patients have what they need and that their room is up to standard. This role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and departments within Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works varying 8‑hour shifts from 3:00PM – 11:30PM. Availability to work Monday-Friday, every other week end and holiday is required. The weekly number of hours scheduled will vary based on the needs of the Hospital.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.
• Wipe down surfaces, clean spills, empty garbage cans, clean furniture and other tasks as assigned.
• Stock paper items and other supplies in exam rooms and restrooms.
• Inform team leader and supervisory team when low on supplies.
• Follow departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
• Follow and adhere to hospital wide and departmental quality and safety requirements.
• Complete one to three months of on‑the‑job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching.
• Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
• Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Light work – Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required,
