Job summary

Join the Cleveland Clinic Martin Health team in Florida as a CCFSR Clinical Technician. You will work with diverse patient populations, support treatment plans, and advocate for patient needs across Martin North, Martin South and Tradition Hospitals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross is required at hire or within the new-hire period.
• Nursing students must obtain BLS prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, including vital signs and activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in condition to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.
• Complete an internal training program within two weeks of start date.

As a CCFSR Clinical Technician, you will work with diverse populations across numerous units, departments and locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. This role has a direct impact on patient care and the overall patient experience as you will be involved in sharing patient information, supporting treatment plans, discussing concerns and advocating for the patient's needs to achieve the best possible outcomes. In this role, you will cycle between Martin North, Martin South and Tradition Hospitals, offering individualized services and support as needed. This team will encourage you to pursue professional growth, advance the Professional Ladder and find your place within the Cleveland Clinic system.

A caregiver in this position works varying days/nights from 6:00AM – 6:30PM or 6:00PM – 6:30AM. All caregivers are required to float to the unit of greatest need within Cleveland Clinic Martin Health – North, South and Tradition.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and inserting urinary Foley catheter.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Complete an internal training program within two weeks of start date.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (upon hire or within new hire period)
• Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required prior to hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
