Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager or Supervisor of Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Aide performs tasks related to laundry and housekeeping following policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of laundry and cleaning services, prioritizing duties, inspections, and inventory management, all while ensuring safety and infection control standards are met.

Overview
  • Assist in training and orientation of staff and students
  • Follow departmental procedures to maintain service quality and consistency
  • Clean assigned areas according to schedules and infection control guidelines
  • Complete additional cleaning duties within set timeframes
  • Conduct daily inspections of areas for cleanliness
  • Ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as washing, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, and dusting
  • Clean bed frames and mattresses as scheduled
  • Manage waste collection and receptacle cleaning
  • Maintain and restock housekeeping carts
  • Handle laundry tasks including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and transporting linen and clothing
  • Process laundry and linen in accordance with standards and infection control
  • Make minor repairs to laundry and linen as needed
  • Distribute laundry and linen appropriately
  • Restock supplies and assist with inventory procedures
  • Participate in quality control audits and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
