Responsibilities include routine cleaning tasks, handling waste per policy, and operating cleaning equipment safely within hospital guidelines.

Responsibilities

• High dusting of horizontal and vertical surfaces
• Disinfect surfaces with approved germicidal cleaner
• Follow directions when using cleaning chemicals
• Remove all municipal, infectious and chemotherapy waste from work areas
• Dry mop and wet mop tile, vinyl, or concrete flooring
• Vacuum and edge clean carpeted areas
• Clean, maintain and operate cleaning equipment safely
• Replace cubicle curtains or draperies
• Strip floor finish from tile, vinyl or concrete flooring
• Apply floor finish to tile, vinyl or concrete flooring
• Be knowledgeable of hospital policies and infection control rules

GENERAL DUTIES

• High Dusting horizontal and vertical surfaces
• Disinfect surfaces with approved germicidal cleaner
• Must follow directions of cleaning chemicals correctly and use safely
• Removal of all municipal, infectious and chemotherapy waste from work area
• Dry mop and wet mop any tile, vinyl or concrete flooring
• Vacuum and edge clean carpeted areas
• Cleaning patient discharge beds and stands. Make bed with clean linen
• Clean, Maintain and Operate all equipment in a safe manner (floor cleaners, sweepers, shredder)
• Remove and replace cubicle curtains or draperies
• Strip floor finish from tile, vinyl or concrete flooring
• Apply floor finish to tile, vinyl or concrete flooring
• Must be knowledgeable of hospital, departmental and infection control policies
