Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, NY is seeking an Environmental/Housekeeping Aide to support our evening shift. You will operate floor buffers and scrubbers, perform floor care, and maintain cleanliness to protect patients, visitors, and staff.

This role requires a detail-oriented, motivated individual who can handle medical waste duties, linen management, and general housekeeping tasks while adhering to infection control standards. Weekend/holiday rotations are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Availability for weekend and holiday rotations required.
• Must be able to stand, lift 25–50 lbs and push/pull up to 150–250 lbs.

Responsibilities

Environmental/Housekeeping Aide Floor Care

Full Time. Evenings.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental/Housekeeping Aide to join our team at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, New York. As a key member of our Housekeeping team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent upkeep of our facilities, performing floor cleaning, stripping and waxing, as well as general housekeeping duties to protect the health and safety of our patients, visitors, and staff.

About the Role:

• As a Housekeeping and Floor Care Aide, you will be trained to operate floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors, collect medical waste, and maintain surfaces and fixtures throughout the facility.
• You will also perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning surfaces, taking out the trash, and maintaining linen, trash, and medical waste storage areas.
• You will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the facility are clean, safe, and free of hazards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate floor buffer, scrubber, and carpet extractor
• Utilize established infection control and standard precaution techniques in the performance of all duties
• Clean surfaces and fixtures throughout the facility according to established policies and procedures
• Collect medical waste, prepare cleaning equipment for isolation, and maintain stock levels for each department
• Perform second round check of duties before leaving for the day to ensure cleanliness and adequate levels are being met
• Maintain closets, carts, linen, trash, recyclables, and medical waste storage areas, and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition
• Damp dust, wash walls and doors
• Responsible collection of soiled linen and laundry, and distributing clean items

Qualifications:

• High School/GED preferred
• Previous history of stable employment
• Previous commercial cleaning experience strongly preferred
• Must be available to work weekend and holiday rotations
• Physical requirements of the role: stand, climb, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Must utilize step ladder and/or balance. Must occasionally lift 25-50 pounds and/or push/pull up to 150-250 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly rate: $16.45 - $17.41/hour based on experience
• $.80 shift differential
• $500 Sign on bonus
