Job description

Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, performs a variety of cleaning duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

1. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Consistently applies the corporate values of respect, honesty, and fairness, and the constant pursuit of excellence in improving the health status of the region through customer-friendly, geographically accessible, high-value services within a comprehensive integrated academic health system. Responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Lifespan Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

1. Perform cleaning duties including dusting mirrors and glass, emptying trash containers, shining brass, stripping floors of old wax, renewing finish, cleaning screens, radiators, drinking fountains, and telephones.
2. Ensure towel and toilet dispensers are filled as required.
3. Keep stairs and stairwells dusted and debris-free at all times.
4. Move furniture, beds, and supplies as required.
5. Pick up and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
6. Wash floors including corridors, bathrooms, toilet areas, shower rooms, offices, lounges, bedrooms, sick rooms, and other assigned areas.
7. Sweep and dust gym floors as required.
8. Spray and buff floors as required.
9. Ensure wash tubs, sinks, and toilets are properly cleaned.
10. Check for fire hazards and report any problems or unusual circumstances immediately to supervision.
11. Maintain equipment, supplies, and the area in a neat, orderly condition.
12. Observe all hospital policies, rules, and regulations, including good housekeeping, safety, and security.
13. Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Knowledge: Requires the ability to follow written or oral instructions.

Experience: Up to one month.
