Job summary

University Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Worker to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across patient and non-patient areas.

The role involves cleaning patient rooms, linen handling, waste management, and light duties, with compensation aligned to New Jersey hourly standards and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English; prior experience in institutional environmental services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keeps patient and non-patient areas of the facility clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, showers, laboratories, offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other areas as assigned using approved cleaners and hospital approved germicide.
• Strips linen from beds, washes beds and mattresses using hospital approved germicide, remakes beds after discharge.
• Dusts furniture and equipment, empties waste baskets, trash, recycling and medical waste containers, washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills, polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Perform light moves and set ups.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

About the Role

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $17.63 – $18.67 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
