Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. in Westchester, FL is recruiting an Environmental Service Worker - Heavy to join our EVS team.

The role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing patient areas, flooring care, linen handling, and waste management in a busy hospital setting. You will strip and wax floors, maintain cleanliness of corridors and closets, follow infection control policies, and participate in monthly department meetings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in floor care, linen, or health-care facility work.
• Knowledge of chemical dilution and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Strips, waxes & maintains tile floors throughout the medical center.
• Cleans corners and baseboards when stripping floors.
• Keeps janitor closets clean and equipment placed properly.
• Uses chemicals correctly and dilutes as instructed.
• Uses supply efficiently as controlled through distribution.
• Performs hard surface floor care, carpet, dusting and damp mopping.
• Accepts special cleaning assignments and completes promptly.
• Attends department meetings when scheduled and participates in staff development.
• Manages time and completes assigned projects; reports to Supervisor.
• Cleans corridors, waiting rooms, stairs and other areas.
• Collects waste and soiled linens; handles biomedical waste per Infection Control.
• Transports soiled linen with universal precautions.
• Follows infection control guidelines.
• Assists Laundry with linen carts.
• Follows hand washing procedures after gloves removal.

Responsible for economical use of supply as controlled through distribution.* Demonstrates knowledge of hard surface floor care, and carpet. Dust, damp mopping and burnishing/buffing as evident on observation.* Accepts special cleaning assignments and completes promptly and thoroughly. As evident by adhere meeting hospital and departmental needs.* Attends and participates in monthly department staff meetings staff development programs when scheduled. Is responsible for all information communicated at the meetings.* Demonstrates efficient use of time as evident by completion of projects that are assigned.
