Job Summary

Environmental Services is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and SPMC staff in compliance with WA Department of Health and organization standards. The EVS tech utilizes soaps, germicidal detergents, and supplies to clean and sanitize designated areas, tools, materials, and equipment. The position is responsible for receiving and distributing of laundered supplies, ensuring patient care areas are provided with clean linens.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • 1. Cleans, disinfects and services all assigned areas. Dust, mop, wash walls, ceilings, windows, furniture, equipment, sinks, mirrors, doors, lights, toilets, shower, shelves, cupboards, vents, water fountain, garbage cans, removal of garbage, patient related garbage, soiled linen and a variety of related duties.
  • Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, accepts supervision from a number of persons and performs tasks despite frequent interruptions. Ability to perform tasks with consideration for patients in the vicinity and always being aware of safety to patients, self and other employees. Initiative in determining what cleaning is to be done.
  • Work under close supervision and performs standardized task quietly and in a timely manner.
  • Position will be required to be trained at all District Facilities and may rotate between, as needed (clinics, hospital, finance office).
  • Special projects and other related duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Housekeeping experience, preferred. Hospital based experience, preferred.
