Whitman Hospital and Medical Clinics seeks an Environmental Services Associate to maintain a clean, safe patient environment across patient rooms, common areas and facilities, coordinating with clinical staff to set cleaning priorities.

This full-time role offers a 40-hour work week, day shift, and a pay range of $20.00 – $35.00 per hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and retirement options (403(b) & 457).

Formación

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CPR/First-Aid certification within 30 days of hire required.
• Previous cleaning experience preferred.
• Healthcare cleaning experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, patient rooms, common areas and fixtures using procedures and standards.
• Removes regular and infectious waste and responds to cleaning needs promptly.
• Collects trash, restocks supplies, and communicates cleaning priorities with clinical staff.
• Performs terminal cleaning to disinfect operating and patient areas between procedures.

Under general supervision, this position provides a full range of environmental services which include, but are not limited to, the cleaning of patient care environments through routine dusting, mopping, vacuuming, equipment cleaning, floor/wall/ceiling cleaning, trash removal, restocking supplies, washing and making beds, and bio hazardous waste. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, comfortable and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff both internally and externally.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical

• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms/patient rooms, common areas and fixtures, sweep, mop or vacuum floors, in accordance with established procedures and standards using a variety of power equipment and hand tools.
• Removes and disposes all regular and infectious waste.
• Responds to emergency cleaning needs or housekeeping requires in a timely manner.
• Collects and empties trash, replaces trash bags and liners.
• Cleans occupied patient rooms daily.
• Performs terminal cleaning to disinfect operating/emergency rooms between procedures and patient rooms following discharge.
• Cleans offices, waiting rooms, and public areas.
• Communicates with clinical personnel to determine priority of cleaning needs.
• Follow written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, supplies and equipment.
• Maintains housekeeping cart, restocks paper receptacles, replaces sharps containers, and orders supplies essential to the job.
• Performs general facility cleaning and maintenance, including: dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning sinks and toilets, washing and waxing floors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• HS Diploma or GED
• Valid, driver’s license.
• CPR/First-Aid certified within 30 days of hire and maintain while employed.

Preferred

• Previous cleaning experience
• Healthcare cleaning experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The environment of this job can vary from day to day, including working in clinical settings as well as mechanical rooms and outside during all times of year. The position will require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds. The position will require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting and standing frequently. Occasionally the position requires climbing, kneeling and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation.
