Placements24 seeks an Environmental Scientist (Water Quality) to join our client’s team in Welkom. The role focuses on monitoring, assessing, and improving local water resources to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable management.

You will conduct field sampling, laboratory analyses, and develop mitigation strategies to protect public health and ecosystems. Key duties include sampling rivers and groundwater, analyzing data, preparing technical reports, and advising on water quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Hydrogeology, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in environmental monitoring and water quality assessment.
• Experience with water sampling techniques, field instrumentation, and laboratory analysis protocols.
• Strong understanding of water chemistry, aquatic ecosystems, and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using relevant software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and with external partners.
