Placements24 has a client seeking an Environmental Scientist to ensure compliance with environmental regulations across mining operations. You will help develop and implement management plans, monitor impacts, and promote sustainable mining practices.

You will work with site management, regulators, and communities to uphold environmental stewardship, requiring proactive risk management and strong reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of environmental management experience in mining.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting, and impact assessment methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans for mining operations.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and monitor key indicators (water, air, soil).
• Ensure compliance with national and local environmental laws and permit requirements.
• Prepare environmental reports for regulators and internal management.
• Deliver environmental awareness training to site personnel.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
