Job summary

Fairweather is seeking a Scientist/Planner in Anchorage, AK to assist senior staff and manage planning tasks. The role involves hazard mitigation, environmental planning, and producing information materials for public forums, with a focus on accuracy and collaboration.

The position requires a BS/BA in a related field and the ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test, with office work in Anchorage and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• BS/BA or current undergraduate in Emergency Management, Safety, Environmental/Community Planning, or related field.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to work in Anchorage office.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior staff in hazard mitigation planning and other projects.
• Support with gathering data, writing, and producing newsletters and information materials.
• Develop presentations for public forums and maintain mailing lists and databases.
• Conduct research on existing reports and interview rural Alaska residents as needed.
