Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned environmental consultant to prepare and manage federal, state, and local environmental permit applications in the Washington, DC area. The role supports NEPA documentation, regulatory compliance, and client deliverables, while guiding project teams and mentoring junior staff.

You will advise clients on permitting strategies, collaborate with project managers for scope alignment, and contribute to environmental planning and reporting across multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • 3–7 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience supporting NEPA documentation and ESAs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage federal, state, and local environmental permit applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of NEPA documentation and supporting environmental analyses.
  • Advise clients on environmental permitting strategies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with scope, budget, schedule, and client expectations.
  • Support the development of technical proposals and client deliverables.
  • Prepare Environmental Management Plans and related compliance documentation.
  • Support ESC and SWM program administration and compliance activities.
  • Mentor junior environmental staff through technical guidance and project collaboration.
