Job summary

Onterris seeks a Junior Environmental Scientist to join our emergency response team. You will conduct environmental sampling and data collection to identify pollutants and guide remediation decisions.

The role requires completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training within three weeks, and obtaining DISA and TWIC clearances within three months, with frequent travel and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science field such as Biology, Environmental Engineering, or Toxicology.
• 1–3 years of related field experience may substitute for a degree.
• Advanced computer skills on Windows-based platforms are required.
• Ability to learn various software and manage administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Be available for extended travel and emergency response.
• Maintain, calibrate and mobilize equipment for emergency response.
• Gather and analyze samples for contamination.
• Perform monitoring and sampling per prescribed methods.
• Compile and summarize scientific data and literature.
• Complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training within three weeks of hire.
• Obtain DISA and TWIC clearances within three months.
