Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Environmental Scientist III to join our team remotely. This role focuses on environmental projects for the land development industry, including wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species inventories, procuring permits, and coordination with county, state, and federal agencies.

You will lead project activities, mentor junior staff, review work for quality, and apply extensive environmental knowledge to deliver compliant results across multiple sites.

Purpose

Responsible for environmental projects related to the land development industry including wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species inventories, procuring appropriate permits, and coordination with regulatory agencies at the county, state and federal levels.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

• Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on highly complex assignments. Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
• Mentor and assist junior staff on assignments in the office and in the field.
