Job summary

HDR, Inc. in the Seattle/Bellevue area seeks an Environmental Scientist I to join our employee-owned team. You will support a range of environmental compliance projects and assist field data collection across transportation and development initiatives.

Responsibilities include preparing wetland delineation reports, biological assessments, and permit documentation, with collaboration across science and engineering disciplines. A strong writing ability and knowledge of MS Office are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
• Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• MS Office experience
• Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

• Work on environmental compliance and natural resources projects related to water resources, transportation and development
• Assist senior and mid-level scientists in field work collecting natural resource data
• Collaborate with a team to conduct wetland and stream delineations, vegetation and wildlife surveys, and other field activities
• Prepare written environmental reports and mitigation options addressing project impacts
• Prepare documentation to support critical areas regulations, ESA consultation, Clean Water Act permits, and other local permits
• Work under supervision of mid-level and senior environmental scientist and water resource engineers
• Perform other duties as needed
