Job summary

Pike Engineering in Fort Mill, SC seeks an Environmental Scientist to support utility projects with field environmental assessments, stream and wetland delineation, permitting, and habitat inventories. The role uses GIS to analyze environmental and land-use factors for siting electric transmission lines and substations.

You will prepare technical reports, assist with regulatory applications (NEPA, SEPA, Army Corps of Engineers, USFWS), budget environmental activities, and work both independently

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in natural resources or ecological consulting.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret environmental documents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field environmental assessments in varied terrains.
• Prepare technical environmental reports and support permitting.
• Coordinate regulatory applications with NEPA, SEPA, Army Corps of Engineers, USFWS.
• Support siting analyses with GIS and land-use data.
• Assist with budgeting for environmental activities.
