Job summary

Sovereign Consulting Inc. in Oxford, CT is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Hydrologist to support field investigations and report preparation.

Ideal candidates bring 3-5 years of related experience, a bachelor’s in environmental science or geology, and OSHA HAZWOPER certification. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to health and safety procedures, and driving a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related experience is required.
• A bachelor’s degree in environmental science or geology.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• OSHA 30-hr Construction or General Industry certification, a plus.
• Demonstrated technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and CAD a plus.
• Must have excellent communication, analytical, field sampling skills.
• Must have a good driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide field and office support of site investigations involving oversight of environmental drilling, well installation and soil sampling.
• Assist with technical report preparation documents including data input and interpretation.
• Have an understanding of the CT Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs), UST Regulations, Significant Environmental Hazard Program, CT Transfer Act, and other similar programs/requirements.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Handle other related duties assigned; and
• Adherence to Sovereign Consulting Inc. health and safety procedures in all field related activities.
