Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Staff Environmental Scientist with CSST certification and hazardous materials/industrial hygiene experience to join our in-office team.

You will conduct site visits, prepare field data, assist in data management across environmental assessment phases, and help coordinate subcontractors while supporting project managers. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory knowledge, and clear reporting, with salary range $75,000–$85,000 and a possible hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field is required.
• CSST certification or CAC & Lead Inspector qualifications required.
• At least 2 years of professional work experience in related duties.
• Ability to perform fieldwork, data collection, evaluation, and technical writing.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable history.

Responsibilities

• Frequent site visits under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Acquire permits and review background data, site photos and aerials.
• Assist in data acquisition, documentation and dissemination across environmental projects.
• Prepare field data, photos, and quantify hazardous materials.
• Coordinate subcontractors and assist with report writing under PM guidance.
• Perform assignments of limited scope and adhere to company policies.
