Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Windsor, CT is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist to join our Windsor, CT Engineering, Construction, and Remediation team.

You will support site investigations, due diligence, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory compliance alongside Project Managers and technical leads. The role emphasizes an eye for detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well within a growing, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience or Geology from an accredited university.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attitude and ability to work well within a team environment.
• Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability (with training) to perform and manage field work (construction oversight, drilling oversight, soil/groundwater sampling, etc.).
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check and MVR check.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, ESRI, and/or HydroCAD.
• 0-1 year or Internship experience in environmental compliance/remediation preferred
• 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate with refresher
• Knowledge of environmental regulations (NJDEP)

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance and remediation projects in the field and office.
• Perform field work including environmental assessments, investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, site inspections, and subcontractor oversight.
• Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, work plans, and construction documents.
• Support management of medium-to-large tasks to meet scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Assist during proposal development including work scopes and budgets.
• Limited travel regionally and state-wide.

Overview

TRC is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist to join our Windsor, CT Engineering, Construction, and Remediation team. This position would be part of a very skilled team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads providing technical support for site investigation, due diligence, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team.

• Support environmental compliance and remediation related projects in the field and office.
• Perform a variety of field work including environmental assessments, environmental investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, site inspections, and subcontractor oversight.
• Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, work plans, design documents, and construction documents in support of engineering design from pilot to full-scale remediation system design.
• Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Assist during proposal development including preparation of work scopes and budgets.
• Limited travel regionally and state-wide on short and long-term assignments.

• 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification).
• Knowledge of environmental regulations (NJDEP)

Compensation

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $49,649.60 - USD $81,473.60 /Yr.
