Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP, is actively seeking an Environmental Scientist to support our San Francisco, CA office. The role focuses on field surveys, data review, and technical reporting for environmental projects across energy and infrastructure sectors.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field and offers 1–4 years of post-degree experience, with strong writing and communication skills and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field.
• 1 to 4 years of post-degree experience.
• Strong client service and technical communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Collaborates with TRC biologists in Planning, Permitting, Licensing practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct biological field surveys which may include wetland/waterbody delineations, habitat, or wildlife and plant species-specific surveys.
• Conduct data review and preparation of reports from field surveys.
• Aid in preparation of technical reports and agency correspondence.

• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Overview

TRC is actively seeking an Environmental Scientist for employment supporting our San Francisco, CA office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct biological field surveys which may include wetland/waterbody delineations, habitat, or wildlife and plant species-specific surveys.
• Conduct data review and preparation of reports from field surveys.
• Aid in preparation of technical reports and agency correspondence.
• Aid in preparation and obtaining jurisdictional determinations.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field, and 1 to 4 years of post-degree experience.
• The Field Biologist will work closely with other TRC biologists in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice.
• We are looking for individuals enthusiastic about his/her work with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence.
• The positions will require regular travel away from home and some projects may require overtime and/or extended workdays and work weeks.
• Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills, along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules and challenging work conditions such as heavily vegetated, rough terrain and hot/cold weather conditions.
• The ability to aid in and/or prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence and other written materials.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
