Job summary

The U.S. Army seeks Environmental Science / Engineering Officers to safeguard Soldiers and their families. You will identify health risks, evaluate controls, supervise research, and help shape policies to protect health in field operations.

The role offers training, education opportunities, international travel, and leadership development within the Army Medical Service Corps.

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from CEPH-accredited program in a public-health-relevant field or an ABET-accredited program in environmental engineering.
  • U.S. citizen to serve Active Duty; permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential health risks and develop actions to control or prevent disease, illness and injury.
  • Supervise scientific research for environmental health and industrial hygiene; assess weapons, equipment, clothing and materials.
  • Develop policies, programs, and operations to ensure health and safety of Soldiers and staff.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from an educational program accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health with a major in a public-health-relevant field or a bachelor’s degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology with a major in an environmental engineering-relevant field
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to serve Active Duty
  • Must have a permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve
