Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Houston, TX seeks an Environmental Scientist to perform office and field tasks related to environmental compliance projects, help develop plans, permit applications and reports.

The role involves data tables, maps, figures, field data collection, and coordination with subcontractors. Preferred candidates hold an EIT/GIT designation and have 0-3 years of experience, with travel readiness and strong communication skills.

• Drilling oversight, USCS lithologic core documentation, well installation, sampling experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental data tables, maps, figures and reports to interpret results and make recommendations
• Prepare permit applications for industrial, energy and other commercial enterprises
• Contribute to regulatory reports and plans
• Conduct field investigations, data collection and site reconnaissance
• Coordinate with subcontractors and manage field activities
• Perform environmental media sampling (air, water, soil, waste) and data analysis
• Prepare data tables, figures and reports and assist in writing sections of reports
• Travel overnight and work extended hours as needed

Job description

As an Environmental Scientist for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Houston, TX office, you’ll conduct office and field activities related to environmental compliance projects and help develop plans, permit applications, and reports.

Duties may include

• Preparing environmental data tables, maps, figures, and reports to help interpret results and make recommendations for further action
• Preparing engineering calculations, complete application forms, and help compile permit applications for new and expanding industrial, energy, and other commercial enterprises
• Contributing to the preparation of environmental regulatory reports and plans
• Conducting field investigations, data collection, and site reconnaissance tasks
• Civil or Environmental Engineering or Geology degree
• 0-3 years expereince
• Preferred E.I.T. or G.I.T.
• Field and data collection focused
• Drilling oversight, USCS lithologic core documentation, well installation, sampling experience
• Subcontractor coordination
• Environmental media sampling - air, water, soil, waste
• Data analysis, table preperation, coordinating figures, report writing, and strong communication skills
• Previous internship experience preferred
• Ability to travel overnight and work extended hours as needed
