Job summary

Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., is seeking an Environmental Scientist for a full-time position in our Albany, NY office. The role blends field work with office duties across diverse environmental consulting projects.

You will perform environmental monitoring, collect samples for lab analysis, conduct Phase I/II ESAs, and help prepare remedial plans, reports, and regulatory documentation. A 2-year degree and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Natural Resources, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• 0-2 years of environmental consulting or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel on a routine basis.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document field observations.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork outdoors in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.
• Occasional extended field assignments and overnight travel predominantly throughout New York.

Responsibilities

Description

Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm of professional engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, architects, and planners, is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated Environmental Scientist for a full-time position in our Albany, NY office.

We are looking for a self-starter who takes initiative, learns quickly, and is comfortable taking ownership of assignments. The ideal candidate is someone who can assess a task and independently determine the next steps to move a project forward.

The position includes a combination of field work and office work supporting a wide variety of environmental consulting projects.

Requirements

• B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Natural Resources, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• 0-2 years of environmental consulting or equivalent relevant experience is preferred. Entry-level candidates with applicable education, field experience, internships, or technical training are encouraged to apply.
• Valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel on a routine basis.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document field observations and activities.
• Willingness and ability to perform fieldwork outdoors in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.
• Availability for occasional extended field assignments and overnight travel predominantly throughout New York and less frequent travel throughout the Northeast.
• This position requires frequent carrying, lifting, and transfer of equipment and supplies. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Candidates must have solid computer and writing skills, strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interface with a variety of clients.
• Experience and competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
• The ability to effectively multi-task and work both independently and in a team environment are important qualities for this position.
• Coursework, knowledge, or experience related to field sampling and data collection, drilling oversight, stormwater compliance, environmental regulations, permitting, and regulatory compliance is a plus.
• Candidates with OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Estimated Pay Range: $26-30/hour.

Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
